National Revolutionary Party
The National Revolutionary Party (Partido Nacional Revolucionario, PNR) was a political party in Mexico founded in 1929. It aimed to unify various revolutionary factions and promote social and economic reforms following the Mexican Revolution. The PNR played a significant role in shaping Mexico's political landscape during the early 20th century.
In 1938, the PNR was restructured and renamed the Institutional Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Institucional, PRI). The PRI dominated Mexican politics for much of the 20th century, implementing policies that focused on nationalism and state-led development. The party's legacy includes both significant social progress and criticisms of authoritarianism.
