Muscle Tear
A muscle tear, also known as a muscle strain, occurs when muscle fibers are overstretched or torn. This injury can happen during physical activities, such as sports or heavy lifting, and can vary in severity from mild to severe. Symptoms often include pain, swelling, and limited movement in the affected area.
Treatment for a muscle tear typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation, commonly referred to as the RICE method. In more severe cases, physical therapy or medical intervention may be necessary to promote healing and restore function. Proper warm-up and stretching can help prevent muscle tears during activities.
