Mongolian Law
Mongolian Law is based on a combination of traditional customs and modern legal frameworks. The legal system is primarily influenced by the Civil Code, which was adopted in 1994, and incorporates elements from Soviet law. The Constitution of Mongolia, established in 1992, serves as the supreme law, guaranteeing fundamental rights and freedoms for its citizens.
The judiciary in Mongolia is independent, with the Supreme Court being the highest authority. Legal matters are handled through various courts, including aimag (provincial) and soum (district) courts. Additionally, customary law, known as Yam, plays a role in resolving disputes, especially in rural areas.
