Middle Elamite
Middle Elamite refers to a historical period in ancient Elam, located in present-day southwestern Iran, which lasted from approximately 1500 to 1100 BCE. This era is characterized by the emergence of powerful city-states and the development of a distinct culture, influenced by neighboring civilizations such as Mesopotamia.
During the Middle Elamite period, the Elamites created significant advancements in art, architecture, and writing. The use of the Elamite script became more prominent, and monumental structures, including palaces and temples, were built. This period laid the groundwork for the later Neo-Elamite civilization, which continued to thrive in the region.
