Michel Leiris
Michel Leiris was a French writer and ethnographer, born on February 16, 1901, in Paris. He is best known for his work in the field of anthropology and his contributions to the Surrealist movement. Leiris's most famous book, "Manhood" (originally "L'Age d'Homme"), is a blend of autobiography and ethnographic reflection, exploring themes of identity and masculinity.
In addition to his literary work, Leiris was involved with the Bureau of Ethnology in France and participated in several ethnographic expeditions, including one to Africa. His writings often reflect his experiences and observations, bridging the gap between art and science in understanding human culture.
