Medupi Power Station
Medupi Power Station is a coal-fired power plant located in Limpopo, South Africa. It is one of the largest dry-cooled power stations in the world, designed to generate approximately 4,800 megawatts of electricity. The plant consists of six units, each capable of producing 800 megawatts, and plays a crucial role in meeting the energy demands of the country.
Construction of Medupi began in 2007 and faced various delays and challenges, including cost overruns and technical issues. Despite these setbacks, the power station is a key component of Eskom's efforts to improve electricity supply and support economic growth in South Africa.
