Power Stations
Power stations, also known as power plants, are facilities that generate electricity for homes, businesses, and industries. They convert various forms of energy, such as fossil fuels, nuclear energy, or renewable sources like wind and solar, into electrical power. The generated electricity is then transmitted through power lines to reach consumers.
Different types of power stations include coal-fired, natural gas, nuclear, and hydroelectric plants. Each type has its own method of energy conversion and environmental impact. For example, solar power stations harness sunlight using photovoltaic cells, while wind farms use turbines to capture wind energy.
