Coal Energy
Coal energy is derived from coal, a fossil fuel formed from ancient plant material that has been subjected to heat and pressure over millions of years. It is primarily used for electricity generation and industrial processes. When burned, coal releases energy in the form of heat, which is used to produce steam that drives turbines to generate electricity.
Despite its abundance and low cost, coal energy has significant environmental impacts. Burning coal releases greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, contributing to climate change. Additionally, coal mining can lead to habitat destruction and pollution, raising concerns about its sustainability compared to cleaner energy sources like solar energy and wind energy.
