Mayan script
Mayan script is a writing system used by the ancient Maya civilization, primarily in present-day Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras. It consists of a combination of logograms, which represent words or phrases, and syllabic symbols that represent sounds. This complex system allowed the Maya to record their history, rituals, and daily life.
The script was inscribed on various surfaces, including stone monuments, pottery, and codices made from bark paper. Although much of the script remains undeciphered, significant progress has been made in understanding its structure and meaning, revealing insights into Mayan culture and society.
