Marie Amélie of Bourbon
Marie Amélie of Bourbon was born on January 26, 1782, in Palermo, Sicily. She was a member of the House of Bourbon and became the Queen consort of France by marrying King Louis-Philippe I in 1809.
As queen, Marie Amélie played a significant role in promoting the arts and education in France. She was known for her charitable work and her efforts to support the welfare of the French people during her husband's reign, which lasted from 1830 to 1848. After the monarchy was overthrown, she lived in exile until her death on May 24, 1866.
