Maria de las Mercedes of Orleans
Maria de las Mercedes of Orleans was a Spanish princess born on September 24, 1860. She was the daughter of Prince Antoine of Orleans and Princess Maria Isabel of Spain. Maria de las Mercedes became known for her beauty and grace, which made her a prominent figure in European royal circles.
In 1879, she married King Alfonso XII of Spain, becoming the Queen consort of Spain. Their marriage was celebrated, and they had two children together. Unfortunately, Maria de las Mercedes passed away on June 26, 1878, just a few months after giving birth, leaving a lasting legacy in Spanish history.
