Maria Sofia of Neuburg
Maria Sofia of Neuburg was a German princess born in 1666. She was the daughter of Philipp Wilhelm, Duke of Neuburg and Maria Anna of Bavaria. In 1685, she married Joseph I, Holy Roman Emperor, becoming Empress of the Holy Roman Empire.
As Empress, Maria Sofia played a significant role in the court and was known for her intelligence and charm. She had several children, including Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor. Maria Sofia's life was marked by her contributions to the cultural and political landscape of her time until her death in 1699.
