M. S. Subbulakshmi
M. S. Subbulakshmi was a renowned Indian classical singer, celebrated for her contributions to Carnatic music. Born on September 16, 1916, in Madurai, she began her musical training at a young age and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional voice and emotive performances.
She was the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, in 1990.
