Mīmāṃsā
Mīmāṃsā is an ancient Indian philosophical system that focuses on the interpretation of Vedic texts and rituals. It emphasizes the importance of performing duties and rituals as prescribed in the Vedas to achieve desired outcomes in life. Mīmāṃsā seeks to establish the authority of the Vedas and provides a framework for understanding their meaning and application.
The system is divided into two main branches: Purva Mīmāṃsā, which deals with ritualistic aspects, and Uttara Mīmāṃsā, also known as Vedanta, which focuses on metaphysical and spiritual inquiries. Mīmāṃsā plays a crucial role in the development of Indian philosophy and has influenced various schools of thought, including Nyaya and Vedanta.
