Lucien Febvre
Lucien Febvre was a prominent French historian born on July 29, 1878, and died on September 11, 1956. He is best known for co-founding the Annales School, which emphasized the importance of social and economic factors in history, moving away from traditional political narratives. Febvre's work focused on the interplay between geography and history, particularly in his influential book, "La Terre et l'Évolution Humaine."
Febvre also contributed significantly to the study of Renaissance history and the history of mentalities. His approach encouraged historians to consider the broader context of human experience, including culture, beliefs, and everyday life, shaping modern historical methodology.
