Lord Gough
Lord Gough, also known as Sir Hugh Gough, was a British Army officer born in 1779. He is best known for his military leadership during the First Anglo-Sikh War and the Second Anglo-Sikh War, where he played a crucial role in the British expansion in India. Gough was recognized for his aggressive tactics and was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.
Throughout his career, Gough received several honors, including a peerage, becoming Baron Gough in 1864. He served as the Commander-in-Chief of the British Army in India and was involved in various campaigns, contributing significantly to British military history until his death in 1869.
