First Anglo-Sikh War
The First Anglo-Sikh War took place between 1845 and 1846, primarily involving the British East India Company and the Sikh Empire. The conflict arose due to tensions over territorial disputes and the British desire to expand their influence in the region. The war began with a series of battles, including the notable Battle of Ferozeshah and the Battle of Sobraon.
The war concluded with the signing of the Treaty of Lahore in March 1846, which resulted in significant territorial losses for the Sikhs. The treaty also established British control over the region, leading to the eventual annexation of the Sikh Empire into British India.
