Lord George Murray
Lord George Murray was a Scottish soldier and a key figure in the {Jacobite} uprisings of the early 18th century. Born in 1694, he was the second son of the 1st Duke of {Atholl}. He played a significant role in the {Jacobite} cause, particularly during the {1745 uprising}, where he served as the commander of the {Jacobite} army's forces.
Murray was known for his military skills and strategic thinking, leading troops in several battles, including the notable {Battle of Culloden}. Despite his efforts, the {Jacobite} rebellion ultimately failed, leading to significant consequences for Scotland and the {Highland} clans. He died in 1760, having spent his later years in exile.
