Bonnie Prince Charlie
Bonnie Prince Charlie, born Charles Edward Stuart in 1720, was the grandson of James II of England. He is best known for leading the Jacobite uprising in 1745, which aimed to restore the Stuart dynasty to the British throne. His campaign began in Scotland, where he gathered support from Highland clans and captured Edinburgh.
The uprising ultimately failed at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, leading to significant consequences for the Jacobite cause and the Scottish Highlands. After his defeat, Bonnie Prince Charlie fled to France, living in exile for the rest of his life until his death in 1788.
