Latvian War of Independence
The Latvian War of Independence took place from 1918 to 1920, following the end of World War I. It was a conflict between the newly declared Latvian state and various foreign powers, including Bolshevik Russia and German forces. The war aimed to secure Latvia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the conflict, Latvian forces, supported by Estonian troops and Western allies, fought against both the Red Army and German units. The war concluded with the signing of the Treaty of Tartu in 1920, which recognized Latvia's independence and established its borders.
