Lahun Pyramid
The Lahun Pyramid, also known as the Pyramid of Senusret II, is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located in the Faiyum Oasis. Built during the 12th Dynasty around 1850 BCE, it served as the tomb for Pharaoh Senusret II. The pyramid originally stood at about 48 meters tall and was constructed using limestone and mudbrick.
The pyramid complex includes a mortuary temple and a causeway leading to a valley temple. Over time, the structure has suffered from erosion and stone robbing, but it remains an important archaeological site, providing insights into the burial practices and architectural techniques of ancient Egypt.
