Pyramid of Senusret II
The Pyramid of Senusret II is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at El-Lahun, built during the Middle Kingdom around 1880 BCE. It served as the tomb for Pharaoh Senusret II, the twelfth ruler of the Twelfth Dynasty. The pyramid originally stood about 48 meters tall and was constructed using limestone and mudbrick.
The pyramid complex includes a mortuary temple and a causeway leading to a valley temple. Over time, the structure has eroded, and much of the outer casing has been removed, but it remains an important archaeological site that provides insights into ancient Egyptian burial practices and architecture.
