Kingdom of Israel
The Kingdom of Israel was an ancient kingdom located in the region of the Levant, established around the 11th century BCE. It emerged after the Israelites united under a single monarchy, with notable kings like Saul, David, and Solomon. The kingdom is often associated with the biblical narrative and played a significant role in the history of the Jewish people.
Around 930 BCE, the kingdom split into two: the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah. The northern kingdom was known for its capital, Samaria, and was eventually conquered by the Assyrian Empire in 722 BCE. The southern kingdom lasted longer but also faced conquest, ultimately falling to the Babylonian Empire in 586 BCE.
