King Edward of Portugal
King Edward of Portugal, also known as Edward I, ruled from 1433 to 1438. He was the son of King John I and Philippa of Lancaster. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the Portuguese monarchy and expand overseas exploration, continuing the work of his predecessors.
Edward faced challenges during his rule, including conflicts with the Castilian crown. He was known for his diplomatic skills and sought to maintain peace in the region. His reign ended when he died unexpectedly, leading to a succession crisis that ultimately resulted in the ascension of his son, Afonso V.
