Khangchendzonga
Khangchendzonga is the third highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,586 meters (28,169 feet) above sea level. It is located in the eastern Himalayas, straddling the border between Nepal and India. The mountain is part of the Khangchendzonga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
The name "Khangchendzonga" translates to "Five Treasures of Snow," referring to its five peaks. It is considered sacred by the local Sikkimese people, who believe it to be the abode of their deities. Climbing Khangchendzonga is challenging due to its technical routes and unpredictable weather conditions.
