Kamose
Kamose was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the Second Intermediate Period, around 1555–1550 BCE. He is known for his efforts to drive out the Hyksos, a group of foreign rulers who had taken control of parts of Egypt. Kamose's reign is significant for its military campaigns aimed at reclaiming Egyptian territory and restoring native rule.
Although not much is known about his life, Kamose is often considered a precursor to his successor, Ahmose I, who ultimately succeeded in expelling the Hyksos and unifying Egypt. Kamose's actions laid the groundwork for the eventual establishment of the Eighteenth Dynasty, marking the beginning of the New Kingdom period in ancient Egypt.
