Hyksos
The Hyksos were a group of people of mixed Semitic origins who settled in the eastern Nile Delta in ancient Egypt around 1650 BCE. They are best known for their role in the Second Intermediate Period, during which they established the 15th Dynasty and ruled over parts of Egypt for about a century. The Hyksos introduced new technologies, including the horse-drawn chariot and advanced weaponry, which significantly influenced Egyptian warfare.
Their rule ended around 1550 BCE when the native Egyptian rulers, led by Ahmose I, successfully expelled the Hyksos, marking the beginning of the New Kingdom. This period saw a resurgence of Egyptian power and culture, as well as the unification of Egypt under native leadership.
