Kalasha People
The Kalasha people are an indigenous ethnic group residing in the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. They are known for their unique culture, vibrant festivals, and distinct language, which is part of the Dardic language family. The Kalasha primarily inhabit three valleys: Bumburet, Rumbur, and Birir.
The Kalasha practice a polytheistic religion, with a rich tradition of rituals and celebrations that reflect their connection to nature. Their society is matriarchal, and women play a significant role in cultural and social life. The Kalasha are also recognized for their colorful traditional attire, which features intricate embroidery and distinctive headdresses.
