Joseph Frederick, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg
Joseph Frederick, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg (1804-1890), was a German nobleman and a member of the House of Saxe-Altenburg. He became the Duke in 1822 after the death of his father, Joseph, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg. His reign was marked by efforts to modernize the duchy and improve the welfare of his subjects.
