Joash of Israel
Joash of Israel, also known as Joash, was a king of the northern kingdom of Israel who reigned during the 9th century BCE. He is noted for his military campaigns against the neighboring kingdom of Judah and for restoring the worship of Yahweh in Israel. His reign is often marked by a struggle against the influence of Baal worship.
Joash ascended to the throne after the assassination of his father, Jehoahaz. He is remembered for his efforts to strengthen Israel's defenses and for his interactions with the prophet Elisha, who played a significant role during his reign. Joash's legacy is a mix of military success and religious reform.
