Jehoiakim
Jehoiakim was a king of Judah who reigned from 609 to 598 BCE. He was the son of Josiah and became king after his father's death. Jehoiakim was known for his alliance with Egypt and his resistance against the rising power of Babylon. His reign was marked by political instability and conflict.
During Jehoiakim's rule, the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II invaded Judah, leading to Jehoiakim's eventual capture. He was taken prisoner to Babylon, where he died. His reign is often viewed as a time of moral decline and disobedience to the laws of God, as reflected in the biblical accounts.
