Zedekiah
Zedekiah was the last king of Judah, reigning from 597 to 586 BCE. He was appointed by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II after the exile of his predecessor, Jehoiachin. Zedekiah's reign was marked by political instability and conflict, as he struggled to maintain his authority amid rising tensions with Babylon.
During his rule, Zedekiah attempted to rebel against Babylonian control, which ultimately led to the siege of Jerusalem. The city fell in 586 BCE, resulting in the destruction of the First Temple and the beginning of the Babylonian Exile for the Jewish people. Zedekiah was captured, and his reign ended in tragedy.
