James VI and I
James VI and I was a monarch who ruled both Scotland and England. He became King of Scotland in 1567 when he was just a year old and later ascended to the English throne in 1603, uniting the two crowns. His reign marked the beginning of the Stuart dynasty in England.
James is known for commissioning the King James Version of the Bible, which was published in 1611 and remains influential today. He also faced challenges, including political conflicts and the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, an attempt to assassinate him and blow up Parliament.
