James Howard, 2nd Earl of Suffolk
James Howard, 2nd Earl of Suffolk, was an English nobleman born in 1620. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk and Mary Wotton. James became the 2nd Earl after his father's death in 1640. He was known for his involvement in the political and social affairs of his time, particularly during the tumultuous period of the English Civil War.
Suffolk was a supporter of the Royalist cause, aligning himself with King Charles I. His loyalty to the monarchy led to his imprisonment after the king's defeat. He was released in 1647 and later became involved in various political activities until his death in 1671.
