James Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk
James Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk (c. 1560–1626), was an English nobleman and politician. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 1st Viscount Howard of Bindon and became a prominent figure in the court of King James I. In 1603, he was created the Earl of Suffolk, reflecting his status and influence.
Suffolk served in various roles, including as a member of the Privy Council and as Lord Chamberlain. He was involved in the management of royal finances and the administration of the court. His legacy includes his contributions to the political landscape of early 17th-century England.
