Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk
Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk (1561–1626), was an English nobleman and politician. He was the son of Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk and became a prominent figure in the court of King James I. In 1603, he was appointed the first Earl of Suffolk, reflecting his significant status in the English aristocracy.
Suffolk served as the Lord Chamberlain of England and was involved in various political and diplomatic matters. He was also known for his role in the Gunpowder Plot investigation, which aimed to uncover the conspirators behind the failed attempt to blow up the House of Lords in 1605.
