Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi
Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi was a prominent 16th-century Ethiopian military leader and religious figure. He is best known for his role in the Adal Sultanate, where he led campaigns against the Ethiopian Empire to expand Islamic influence in the region. His leadership was marked by significant battles, including the famous Battle of Wayna Daga.
Al-Ghazi was also a key figure in the spread of Islam in the Horn of Africa. His efforts contributed to the establishment of Islamic governance and culture in parts of Ethiopia. Despite facing strong resistance, his legacy remains influential in the history of Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.
