Ida of Lorraine
Ida of Lorraine was a noblewoman born around 1040, known for her influential role in the Holy Roman Empire. She was the daughter of Godfrey III, Duke of Lower Lorraine and Doda of Lorraine. Ida married Henry the Proud, the Duke of Bavaria, and became the mother of several notable children, including Henry the Lion, who would later become a significant figure in German history.
Ida's lineage connected her to various powerful families, enhancing her political influence. After her husband's death in 1139, she played a crucial role in managing their estates and supporting her children's ambitions, contributing to the legacy of the Welf dynasty.
