Hindu and Buddhist Traditions
Hindu and Buddhist traditions are two major religions that originated in South Asia. Hinduism, one of the oldest religions, emphasizes concepts like dharma (duty), karma (action and consequence), and moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). It features a diverse range of beliefs, rituals, and deities, with texts such as the Vedas and Upanishads guiding its followers.
Buddhism emerged from the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, around the 5th century BCE. It focuses on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as a means to achieve nirvana, or liberation from suffering. Unlike Hinduism, Buddhism does not center around a creator god and emphasizes personal spiritual development.
