Hinduism and Buddhism
Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world, originating in the Indian subcontinent. It encompasses a variety of beliefs, practices, and rituals, with key concepts including dharma (duty), karma (action and consequence), and moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). Hinduism is characterized by a rich tapestry of deities, texts like the Vedas and Upanishads, and diverse traditions.
Buddhism emerged in the 5th century BCE, founded by Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha. It emphasizes the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as a means to achieve nirvana, or liberation from suffering. Unlike Hinduism, Buddhism does not focus on the worship of gods but rather on personal spiritual development and ethical living.
