Himyar
The Himyar Kingdom was an ancient state located in present-day Yemen, flourishing from around the 2nd century BCE to the 6th century CE. It was known for its rich trade routes, connecting the Arabian Peninsula with regions like India and Africa. The Himyarites were skilled in agriculture and developed irrigation systems, which supported their economy.
Himyar was notable for its cultural and religious diversity, with influences from Judaism, Christianity, and local pagan beliefs. The kingdom eventually fell to the Aksumite Empire in the 6th century, marking the decline of its power and influence in the region.
