Henry I, Count of Champagne
Henry I, Count of Champagne (c. 1127–1181) was a prominent noble in medieval France. He was the son of Theobald II, Count of Champagne and Matilda of Carinthia. Henry inherited the title of Count of Champagne in 1152 and played a significant role in the politics of the region, known for his efforts to strengthen the county's influence.
In addition to his political activities, Henry I was also involved in the Crusades. He participated in the Second Crusade (1147–1149) and later supported the Kingdom of Jerusalem. His reign contributed to the cultural and economic development of Champagne, making it an important center in medieval Europe.
