Henry II of France
Henry II of France was the King of France from 1547 until his death in 1559. He was born on March 31, 1519, and was the son of Francis I of France. Henry II's reign was marked by military conflicts, particularly with Spain and England, as well as internal struggles related to the Protestant Reformation.
Henry II was married to Catherine de' Medici, and they had ten children, including future kings Francis II, Charles IX, and Henry III. His reign saw the rise of the Huguenots, leading to significant religious tensions in France. Henry II died in a jousting accident, leaving a complex legacy.
