Henrietta Maria
Henrietta Maria was a French princess born on November 25, 1609, and became the queen consort of Charles I of England. She was the daughter of Henri IV of France and Marie de' Medici. Henrietta Maria married Charles I in 1625, and their union produced several children, including Charles II and James II.
As queen, Henrietta Maria was known for her strong Catholic faith, which influenced her political alliances during the English Civil War. She supported her husband against Parliament and sought assistance from France and Spain. Henrietta Maria's life was marked by the turmoil of the Civil War and the eventual execution of Charles I in 1649.
