Hamstring Injuries
Hamstring injuries occur when the muscles at the back of the thigh are strained or torn. These injuries are common in athletes who participate in sports that require sprinting, jumping, or sudden stops, such as football, soccer, and track and field. Symptoms often include pain, swelling, and difficulty walking or bending the knee.
Treatment for hamstring injuries typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE). In more severe cases, physical therapy may be necessary to restore strength and flexibility. Recovery time can vary depending on the severity of the injury, ranging from a few days to several weeks.
