Homonym: Grihastha (Householder)
Grihastha is one of the four stages of life in Hindu philosophy, known as the Ashramas. It represents the householder phase, where individuals focus on family life, career, and social responsibilities. During this stage, people typically marry, raise children, and contribute to society while fulfilling their duties.
In the Grihastha stage, individuals are encouraged to seek balance between personal desires and spiritual growth. This phase emphasizes the importance of dharma, or righteous living, as well as the pursuit of wealth and pleasure, known as artha and kama. Ultimately, it prepares individuals for the later stages of life, such as Vanaprastha and Sannyasa.
