Vanaprastha
Vanaprastha is the third stage of life in the ancient Indian philosophy of Ashrama, which outlines the four stages of a person's life. It typically follows Grihastha, the householder stage, and is characterized by a gradual withdrawal from worldly responsibilities. During this phase, individuals often retreat to a forest or secluded area to focus on spiritual practices and self-realization.
In Vanaprastha, individuals seek to detach from material possessions and familial duties, preparing for the final stage, Sannyasa. This transition emphasizes the importance of inner growth and reflection, allowing individuals to cultivate a deeper connection with the divine and the universe.
