Great Pyramid of Cholula
The Great Pyramid of Cholula, located in Puebla, Mexico, is the largest pyramid by volume in the world. It was built by the ancient Nahua civilization and is dedicated to the Mesoamerican god Quetzalcoatl. The pyramid stands at 66 meters tall and has a base that covers over 40 acres, making it larger than the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Constructed in several phases between the 3rd century BCE and the 9th century CE, the pyramid features a series of platforms and terraces. Today, it is topped by the Church of Our Lady of Remedies, which was built by Spanish colonizers in the 16th century, symbolizing the blend of indigenous and European cultures.
