Ghadar Movement
The Ghadar Movement was a revolutionary movement that emerged in the early 20th century, primarily among Indian immigrants in North America. Founded in 1913 by the Ghadar Party, its main goal was to overthrow British colonial rule in India. The movement gained momentum through publications and organizing efforts, encouraging Indians to rise against British authorities.
The Ghadar Party was composed mainly of Punjabi Sikhs and other Indian expatriates who were disillusioned with British oppression. They planned uprisings and sought support from other countries, including Germany and Japan, during World War I. Although the movement ultimately failed, it played a significant role in inspiring future generations of Indian nationalists.
