George Keith, 6th Earl Marischal
George Keith, 6th Earl Marischal (c. 1692–1778) was a Scottish nobleman known for his role in the {Jacobite} uprisings. He was a prominent supporter of the {Jacobite cause}, which sought to restore the {Stuart} monarchy to the British throne. His loyalty to the Jacobite movement led to his involvement in the {Battle of Culloden} in 1746, after which he fled to France.
In addition to his political activities, George Keith was also known for his contributions to the {Scottish Enlightenment}. He served as a diplomat and was involved in various cultural and educational initiatives. His legacy includes his efforts to promote Scottish interests in Europe during a time of significant political change.
